Some agencies may try to extort money from applicants against mounting a fraudulent visa application file.
The Embassy of France in Baghdad calls the attention of the applicants to the fact that these cases will be systematically refused and reported to the Schengen partners.

Due to a maintenance in France-Visas Website, the application and website of France-Visas will not be available from 7:00 am to 11:00 am (Paris time).
The Visa Application Centre will be closed on Wednesday 24th March and open instead on Tuesday 23rd March.
Due to the current situation amid Coronavirus and the declaration of the Curfew by the local government, France Visa Application Centre in Baghdad will be closed until further notice, may you please check our website regularly to know the next opening date.
For applicants with a confirmed appointment, you will be contacted by our call center to advise you to book a new appointment next week.

Following the discovery of new cases of coronavirus in Europe, we are taking all the necessary measures to ensure maximum safety of our visa customers and our staff. Our centres remain open, but we ask you to respect any guidance provided on-site during your visa appointment. You may only submit your visa application within 180 days before your date of departure. We recommend that you apply at least 20 calendar days before the first available appointment at our center because the visa process takes minimum 15 days.
Your passport must be valid for at least 90 days from the date of your return from the Schengen area if you apply for a short visa and at least 15 months from the date of travel to the Schengen area if you apply for a long visa.
Starting from 18 February 2019, instead of filling the OFII, the applicant would be required to access the following link during his first three months in France in order to apply for a residency and legalize his stay.
