Required documents for a Spouse of French citizen visa application for France

You are the spouse of a French Citizen. You are going to France and will stay no longer than 90 days. You will have to provide the following documents: a recent copy of your marriage certificate (less than 2 months), your family record book AND proof of your spouse’s French nationality.

Documents in Thai language must be translated into English or in French

If your fingerprints were previously collected for the purpose of applying for a Schengen visa and a visa with the mention “VIS” has been granted, then a new fingerprints collection won’t be needed for your next visa application.


If your fingerprints have not been previously collected, so personal appearance is mandatory.


If your fingerprints have been previously collected and no Schengen visa has been granted, then your fingerprints will be collected once more.

Two recent, developed identity photos

  1. Color photo on a white background
  2. Format 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm
  3. Taken from the front; without obstruction
  4. Recent (less than 6 months old)
  5. Ears and eyebrows must appear on the picture

The photo must be a close-up of your head and the top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph.

(Passport expiration date must be 3 months after the date of your return from the Schengen Area. Passport shall have been issued within the previous ten years , with two blank visa pages with the mention “visa” to affix the visa sticker)

(If you are in possession of one or more previous passports, it is mandatory to bring all of them)

 

(Copies of the passport identity and pages having Schengen visas or stamps)

Integral copy of the French marriage certificate issued in the last 2 months or transcription on the French civil registrar

(Family book cannot be considered as copy of the French marriage certificate)


To obtain an integral copy of the French marriage certificate, please contact the French civil registrar where your marriage was registered either the civil registrar of the Embassy of France in the country where your marriage was registered or the civil registrar of the City hall in France where your marriage was celebrated.

 

Name change certificate, in case applicant’s name/surname is different between the passport and the French marriage certificate

Proof of spouse’s French nationality

Proof of spouse’s French nationality (copy)

National identity card or French passport or citizenship certificate or copy of official document granting French nationality

Letter from the French citizen to confirm that they are living together, the visa application and the non-dissolution of the marriage.
